I’m feeling lucky, to let Google drive my car.

When I heard about Google’s latest blog where it revealed it has been creating secret automatic cars I was excited but unsurprised. The reason I say this, is the way they have been developing their street view features, their advanced terrain mapping would all point to gathering information in ways which can be used for purposes such as this: cars that can drive themselves!! Love it.

Apparently these Google modified Toyotas have logged 140,000 miles so far. Driving close to iconic landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge.

“Automated cars use video cameras, radar sensors and a laser range finder to “see” other traffic, as well as detailed maps (which we collect using manually driven vehicles) to navigate the road ahead. This is all made possible by Google’s data centers, which can process the enormous amounts of information gathered by our cars when mapping their terrain.”.

We can’t wait to plug their car API into CrowdControlHQ… some how.

  1. It’s excellent news and scary news in one ! Don’t ya think ?

  2. Really quite scary, companies like TomTom need to get in there quick before the satellite navigation system is extinct!!
